Early this year Techpol has started an internal training course on polymers and composites for its technical and quality engineers. The teacher is Dr. Augusto Fabbri, a professional with a long career as Polymers and Elastomers R&D Manager at ENI Group; He participated in the definition of procedures for the quality and environmental certification of gas and oil plants and is the author of several studies and cooperates on research projects with Italian and Foreign Universities.
The main topic of the 200 hours course is the study of composite polymers systems and particularly of nanotechnologies along with the analysis of processing technologies with the main focus on injection moulding.
With this know-how Techpol will approach more effectively problems such as fine tuning of injection moulding process, the selection of raw materials, the quality of finished parts along with their sustainability.
Through this initiative Techpol will increase internal knowledge of polymers and composites boosting engineering activities aimed at “metal replacement” and recycling. It will also allow to install processes and sophisticated equipment with zero impact on the environment.
